Kristian Katzenberger, born in 1991, is principal horn with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2021.
At the German Music Competition in 2014 he received a scholarship and was selected for the national selection of concerts by young artists. He was also a scholarship holder of the "Villa Musica" in Rhineland-Palatinate.
As principal horn he made guest appearances in orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Berlin under the baton of Herbert Blomstedt, Daniel Barenboim and others.
In addition to his orchestral work, Kristian Katzenberger is also a passionate chamber musician - he has worked with well-known musicians such as Maximilian Hornung and Lars Vogt. He played as a guest at various music festivals and made a guest appearance on a US tour with the renowned Scharoun Ensemble of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Kristian Katzenberger is teaching as Professor for Horn at the Mainz University of Music since 2024.
